How Does it Work?
The only safe way to permanently fade and remove unwanted tattoo ink is to use a special kind of laser called the Q-Switch Yag laser. This laser procedure is a beam of light that is applied to the skin and absorbs tattoo pigments.
The Q-Switch Yag targets tattoo ink while doing minimal damage to the surrounding skin. The Q-Switch MEDLITE C6 is the most advanced laser technology to remove tattoos safely and effectively.
Are Treatments Painful?
The area that is being treated will be numbed with xylocaine so most patients feel little to no pain. There are normal side effects after a tattoo laser removal treatment such as redness, blistering and crusting. This usually lasts for about 1 week.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments is dependent on various factors such as the amount of ink that was used for the tattoo, the age of the tattoo, and the colors that were used for the tattoo. Generally, most permanent makeup tattoos require 1-4 treatments.
Fading is noted each time a treatment is performed. Treatment intervals are usually 6-8 weeks apart. Immediately after the laser treatment, it is important not to pick at the area and patients are instructed to avoid direct sunlight while the area is healing.
