Many more consumers are turning to Botox® or Dysport®. Not only for medical reasons, but they are seeking out this treatment for cosmetic purposes and it is becoming more “accepted” in our society as well. Knowing if Botox® or Dysport® is right for you is a very individualized and important question to ask.
Botox® and Dysport® have both been successfully used to treat severe glabellar (frown) lines and are approved for use in adult patients up to 65 years of age. When Botox® or Dysport® is injected into the muscles surrounding the brow area for instance, those muscles cannot “scrunch up” for a period of time. They are relaxed. So the wrinkles in that area—often referred to as frown lines or the number 11s—temporarily go away for about 3-4 months.
Botox® or Dysport® can also be a great preventative therapy for future wrinkles and lines. The reduction in movement from these muscles prevents further creases. Every person has facial muscles that work differently at creating lines of expression. The amount chosen to be used by a licensed experienced practitioner will create the desired look for each individual. This look should be subtle and refreshed.
At Cosmetic Skin Institute, we strive in promoting excellent patient care and our main goal with Botox® and Dysport® has always been to provide a very natural and rested look.
